Re-Prioritizing
What a bloody amazing feeling...
I got caught trying to straddle two worlds, one I love, and one that I thought I was supposed to.
Don't get me wrong.. the latter isn't bad... it just was the farthest thing from who am I and who I want to be.
It wasn't that this just hit me... I think I knew for a long time, but there is this pressure... may be socially imposed... maybe by the situation.... maybe from myself....
You live you learn.
27 is going to rock.

Democamp: Hurry up and get here!!!
I am so excited at the response to Democamp. When I first pitched this idea, my classmates looked at me as if they were wondering whether I was actually drinking water in my little canteen...
"No really... the whole point of the event is to have people share their ideas and get feed back"
"Non-Disclosure Agreements can be tricky..."
"So I hear, but Democamp doesn't do NDAs"
"but..."
"no buts. and no NDAs. Just a person. an idea. and 5 minutes"
Democamp is about stripping away the bureaucracy and red tape and just getting back to basics... building the community... and working together to keep inspiring people to innovate and think out of the box.
We have some amazing presentations!!! They span across the board from Wireless to Social Media to Tools for businesses.... The official program will be posted Friday afternoon.
If you are looking for the best place to be on a Wednesday... let me be the first to introduce you to Democamp Boston... We make Wednesdays look good.

Accountability
Why is it that in times of difficulty, whether it be in a relationship, a family stuation or a complete global economic downturn, must we search for one group or person who is to blame. Accountability people. A-C-C-O-U-N-T-A-B-I-L-I-T-Y. Everyone needs to get off their comfy lazy-boy recliner and stop shot-putting the blame on someone else. It takes 2 to tango.
"I didn't realize that my credit card had 30% interest"
-If you can read US Weekly, or your destiny from a little piece of paper from a fortune cookie... you can read a contract for a credit card. If you don't understand the language, don't sign....
"I give my money to a portfolio manager, and he invests it for me. That's what I pay him for."
-Ok... so I'll take your money and never have to account for anything other than the occasional phone call to say "Don't worry... everything is fine"... oh and please pay me a portion of you portfolio each year... that local phone call is pricy....
"I didn't know I was signing up for a morgage I couldn't afford..."
-Of course you are eligable for a 600000 morgage though you make 30k per year
This is not only focused towards the John Q. Consumer.... Mr. Investment Banker... Buy-Analyst... Sell Analyst... If I had my way, every single last one of you would be bankrupt and in jail.... and not a comfy 'Martha Stewart' jail either... this whole business of "well everyone was doing it..." Garbage... just plain garbage. If the guy beside you told you to run your pretty little masarti of a cliff... I assume you may stop for a moment to comtemplate that advice... No more of only the CEO getting blamed for his people being well.... douchbags.... Everyone who participates is guilty.
No more grey area in white collar crime. The benefits of keeping your mouth shut or going along with these acts far outweigh the reward of being the whistle blower... Every company has some commandment in its employee handbook, but in reality... the whistleblower is the one who is ostracized, not the actual people breaking the rules, especially if they have any resemblence of power within the community.

The People you least expect
I have 1 focus right now... Thank god for friends and family who get it... or at least try to... however I am always shocked that certain people who should know best... ie. some who share the trenches with me... some just don't get it.
I don't care what everyone thinks. I care what some people think. I have a goal and I hate to say it but you are either with me or ur off the bus. I know what I want. I know how I want to get there. There are no scenic detours... no pit stops... I got 11 months to learn it all and walk out of this place 50K in brainpower ahead of where I began...
